Patricia

A continuing agent that can be present, remember and follow through.

Patricia is being developed across physical robots, phone, web and simulation—with natural interaction, structured activity and controlled action.

Development since 2025

Research foundations now operating in a real mobile prototype.

The central idea

Useful continuity between human moments.

Patricia may help someone remember an agreed activity, ask for support, contact another person, bring a remote participant into the room or continue a task across devices.

The aim is not to imitate a human carer. It is to create a familiar, supervised presence that can handle a bounded set of useful activities reliably.

A typical interaction

From normal language to a controlled outcome.

1

Understand

A person speaks naturally or uses the phone or web interface.

2

Connect context

Patricia identifies the relevant person, place and ongoing activity.

3

Follow a procedure

An agreed, reviewable process organises the next steps.

4

Act within limits

Only permitted robot or digital actions are available.

5

Complete or hand over

Patricia reports the outcome or involves a person.

Public architecture

Flexible where flexibility helps. Structured where reliability matters.

The detailed runtime, prompts, procedure format and safety implementation remain private. The public design principle is straightforward.

01

Natural interaction

Language and perception help interpret what is happening.

02

Persistent activity state

The task can continue beyond one chat response or device.

03

Reviewable procedures

Important activities can be tested, adapted and inspected.

04

Controlled action

Dedicated software limits what physical and digital actions can occur.

One Patricia, several forms

The body can change without losing the relationship.

Initial activity areas

Useful, repeatable and observable.

Communication and connection

Help someone contact staff, family or another approved person and carry relevant context.

Routines and follow-through

Support an agreed sequence and remember where it has reached.

Mobile and remote presence

Move to a known location or allow another person to participate remotely.

Guidance and orientation

Offer accessible information about a familiar setting or activity.

Delivery and fetching

Where the embodiment permits, move small items between known places.

Human handover

Pause, contact or defer when a situation is uncertain or outside scope.

Where we are now

From foundations to demonstration.

Work began with robot learning, VLA, reinforcement learning and agent research. Patricia’s agent architecture has since moved onto a physical prototype, with public demos, Bumi integration and phone continuity now being developed.

Roadmap & demos
“Build something useful enough to test, clear enough to evaluate, and controlled enough to trust.”
