Role in Patricia

Move from development rig to a coherent robot presence.

Bumi provides a more integrated body for demonstrating how Patricia may move, communicate and participate in real premises. Sydney AI is developing Patricia as the product; Bumi is one embodiment.

The integration should preserve portability so that Patricia is not dependent on a single hardware supplier or body.

What this project tests

Questions before claims.

  • Portability of the Patricia core
  • Natural interaction in a more complete body
  • Navigation, telepresence and routine assistance
  • Appearance and motion that feel calm rather than threatening
  • Practical maintenance, charging and supervision

Next work

What moves it forward.

  • Confirm hardware interfaces and integration plan
  • Transfer working agent and navigation components
  • Develop an approachable textile and colour treatment
  • Record a first Patricia-on-Bumi demonstration
  • Use partner feedback to select bounded tasks

Interaction and appearance direction

Friendly, capable and calm—not theatrical.

Patricia should look appropriate in ordinary rooms and care settings rather than in an action pose.

Calm posture

Relaxed arms, visible hands, respectful distance and movement that is easy to anticipate.

Warm materials

A removable eucalyptus-green textile layer with restrained rose detailing can soften the machinery and conceal practical components.

Subtle femininity

A calm feminine voice and refined colour accents, without costumes, childlike styling or exaggerated stereotypes.

Everyday photography

Show Patricia beside people and furniture, at a comfortable height, carrying out ordinary activities.
